When I joined Neemb, there wasn’t much in the way of branding, so that I started from scratch. The company ordered a logo from Projector School. When we received the logo, I decided to make some changes. Having applied a couple of minor color tweaks, it's started looking a little better.
When I joined the company, the project had already existed. However, the project wasn't that successful, as it had a poor code quality and lack of systematization in design. Neither components, nor styles. I don't know why it was done this way. Furthermore, I saw a huge opportunity in developing this project, so that I started working on it from scratch.
However, the necessity, in my mind, was pretty clear. Considering the changes that needed to be made to the products and future directions, it made a lot of sense to have a library of components that would be reliable, flexible and totally customizable for our unique use cases.
The design system should reduce the "force of friction" when making decisions. We need to free up more time for our teams in order to focus on high-priority cases, and improving the quality and consistency for Neemb customers
We want interaction with the glider to take less time, to be focused on tacking care of humans and their task, don't require special knowledge for using our service and long searches.
We draw inspiration from other companies, although our principles are defined by our product. This helps determine which ones are most effective. As with all of our work, we are constantly adjusting our principles and always striving to improve them.
There are two types of principles: principles that guide the process and principles that determine the outcome.
Each principle is assigned a hierarchical position so that when we resolve confusion about what to do in certain circumstances, we remain consistent.
